Daring to Dream

I have been a bit of an insomniac lately (if you're ever bored at 3 AM call me- I'll be awake) and although it is frustrating, it does come with its advantages. As I am lying there in bed trying to sleep my mind runs wild. I have so much time to think, and I think about just about everything. If you know me well, then you know that for a few years now I have talked about how being a children's author would be the dream job for me. You can work from your home in your pajamas. You still get the joy of working with children by traveling to schools. If you're successful enough you can make some money doing it too! And lets face it- it is just a nifty job in general!

I had always thought that perhaps if I just came up with the right idea for a children's series, I could pursue being a children's author. Well... my sleepness nights have led to an idea. Once my student teaching is over I am going to get started. Don't worry. I am not going to quit teaching to pursue writing- this may turn into nothing more than a hobby. All I know is that I think it will bring joy to my life. I need something that I can invest myself in and take delight in doing. I think this is just the ticket.

  2. I think this is a fantastic idea. So many writers (especially children's book writers, it seems) started out their careers by working on a book on the side. Keep at it. And you need to find a cool illustrator!

  3. You go, girl! I'll say I was your Aunt who bought you books! (It's Aunt Michelle, I just don't understand the "comment as" part.)
